Truffles from Let’s Chocolaat, a pleasure that melts in your mouth

Chocolate truffles are a sophisticated choice for both gift-giving and enjoyment. But did you know that they were created by accident? The history of the chocolate truffle takes us back to France in the late 19th century, when master pastry chef Louis Dufour ran out of ingredients for his traditional desserts and had to improvise.

Dufour made a mixture with the ingredients he had on hand: cream, bitter cocoa, and vanilla. He shaped the mixture into balls and covered them with cocoa powder. Chocolate truffles were born, their name linking the shape of this dessert to that of the truffle mushroom, used in haute cuisine.

What is the difference between a truffle and a chocolate?

Truffle: A smooth, creamy mixture shaped into small spheres, usually coated with cocoa powder, melted chocolate, or nuts. It has a soft texture and melts in the mouth.

Chocolate bonbon: Usually has a solid chocolate outer shell and may be filled with liqueurs, creams, nuts, or other ingredients. The outer texture is harder than that of a truffle.

At Let's Chocolaat, we present our delicious truffles, designed for chocolate lovers like you. Truffles are an ideal treat to enjoy during moments of relaxation or special occasions. They are also, of course, perfect to accompany a coffee or savor after a special meal.
