The key lies in the contrast: the richness of the chocolate blends with the aromatic freshness of the mint, creating a drink that works just as well as an afternoon snack, a dessert, or a frozen treat at any time of day.
Below are two recipes—one more traditional and the other for slushie lovers:
Classic Recipe
- A few hours beforehand, put the 1-liter carton of Chocolate a la Taza in your refrigerator so it's ready to serve.
- Pour the desired amount of chocolate into a cup. Add the chopped fresh mint or a few drops of mint extract. Then stir to blend the two flavors.
- Optional: You can garnish the cold chocolate with mint leaves.
Slushie Recipe
You can take it a step further and make the slushie as follows:
- Divide the chocolate from the Let’s Chocolaat carton into an ice cube tray (for example, the kind typically used for ice cubes).
- Freeze it in your refrigerator.
- In a bowl, place the chocolate chips and mix them with the chopped mint or the drops of mint flavoring.
- Blend the mixture until it reaches a slush-like consistency.
