July 7 is International Cocoa Day, a special date to honor this fruit from which chocolate and, by extension, exquisite chocolates are made. However, excessive heat can spoil your chocolates, so we are going to give you some tips to enjoy them without melting.
The best places to store chocolates in the summertime
- Cool cupboard or pantry: away from sunlight and strong odors. Best if temperature is constant.
- Basement or cellar: with its darkness and lower temperature, it is a good place to keep chocolate longer.
- Refrigerator or fridge. Important, to prevent the bonbons from absorbing odors from other foods, they should be stored in an airtight bag or a cooler. To prevent moisture from condensing, cover them with kitchen paper before closing the bag.
However, if you keep them in the fridge, avoid this mistake: take them out gradually, from the fridge to the coolest place you can, then to room temperature, and finally, enjoy your bonbon. The sink is not at all advisable, since it is a place with a lot of humidity and this will damage your chocolates.
With proper care, you can continue to enjoy the high quality and flavors of your favorite chocolates. At Let's Chocolaat you will find a wide range of praline chocolates with different textures and tastes, as well as tartufo-type chocolates. All of them, well preserved, will allow you to enjoy their quality and flavor even on the hottest summer days.
