The cold weather is coming, and with it, teas and herbal teas.

The cold weather is coming, and what better time to enjoy a cup of tea or herbal tea. As well as combating the cold, these types of drinks have multiple health benefits and promote well-being and relaxation. 

Although they may appear to be the same beverage, there are differences between tea and herbal teas.

  • Herbal teas. 

An infusion is the result of combining boiling water with the leaves, flowers, roots, or fruits of certain plants. 

Each type of herbal tea has different benefits, but the general and main advantages of drinking herbal teas are:

  • Antioxidant effect.
  • Reduction of fluid retention.
  • They improve sleep and digestion. 
  • Relaxing and anxiolytic effect. 

There is a wide variety of herbal teas, the most notable being: lime blossom, pennyroyal mint, chamomile, red berries, and Ayurvedic herbal teas. 

 

  • Teas.

Tea, on the other hand, is a type of infusion that comes solely from the leaves and buds of the Camellia Sinensis tree. Camellia Sinensis

In the case of teas, the main benefits they provide are as follows:

  • Provides vitamins and minerals. 
  • It has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.
  • Protects the immune system.
  • Improves skin, hair, and nails. 

When buying tea, it is important to consider the different types available on the market, the most popular being black tea, green tea, and exotic teas (white tea with peach, white tea with cinnamon, or red pu-erh tea).

It is clear, then, that there are teas and infusions to suit all tastes and with numerous benefits.
