The cold weather arrives and with it the teas and infusions.

The cold is coming, and what better time to enjoy a cup of tea or infusion. Apart from combating the cold, this type of beverage has multiple health benefits and provides wellness and relaxation. 

Although they may seem to be the same beverage, there are differences between tea and infusions.

  • Infusions. 

The infusion is the result of the union of boiling water with the leaves, flowers, roots or fruits of some plants. 

Each type of infusion has different benefits, but still the general and main advantages of drinking infusions are:

  • Antioxidant effect.
  • Reduction of fluid retention.
  • Improve sleep and digestion. 
  • Relaxing and anxiolytic effect. 

The variety of infusions is very wide, the most outstanding are: Linden, Pennyroyal Mint, Chamomile, Red Fruits and Ayurvedic infusions. 

 

  • Teas.

Tea, on the other hand, is a type of infusion that comes only from the leaves and buds of the tree Camellia Sinensis.

In the case of teas, the main benefits are the following:

  • Provides vitamins and minerals. 
  • It has anti-inflammatory and anticarcinogenic properties.
  • Protects the immune system.
  • Improves skin, hair and nails. 

When buying tea it is important to take into account the different types that exist in the market, the most purchased: black tea, green tea and exotic teas (white tea with peach, white tea with cinnamon or red pu-erh tea).

It can be seen then, that there are teas and infusions for all tastes and with numerous benefits.
